Ask a Question

Can we connect two ABL8BBU24400 units in parallel to achieve 72Ah backup? Please suggest the possible solution?

Basically it is possible to use 2 ABL8BBU in parallel. Please find below the requirements for a proper parallel operation of 2 ABL8BBU:
1. Power supply units (PSU) (2x)
1.1 Type: ABL8WPS24400
1.2 Both PSU must be supplied from the same source (same relay/contactor)
1.3 The output voltages of both PSU (without load) must be set to the same value as exactly as possible
1.4 Both PSU must be set to "manual mode"
1.5 The wires to the BBUs must be of identical length and cross section (6 mm2)

2. Backup Module (2x)
2.1 Type: ABL8BBU24400
2.2 All module settings (especially the back-up time) must be identical for both BBUs
2.3 The cables to the batteries must be of identical length and cross section (6 mm2)
2.4 The cables to the distribution bar (conductor bar) must be of identical length and cross section (6 mm2)

3. Storage batteries 3.1 ABL8PK24A12 (1x-3x)
3.1 Both battery packs must be identically.
3.2 The battery packs must be replaced/exchanges simultaneously.

4. Others
4.1 The wiring of the outputs does not require any diodes
4.2 The outputs of the BBU must be connected to the distribution bar exclusively.
