In this animation, Three Young graduates candidates will talk about their career path at Schneider Electric, Daniel, Brigitte, Ross: 1) Daniel, 31 - Operations. Hello. My name is Daniel. I joined Schneider Electric as a Quality Engineer in Mexico seven years ago. I started my career as a Quality Engineer at a circuit breaker plant in Mexico. My job was to analyse, control and improve the manufacturing process. One year later, I accepted a transfer to become a Manufacturing Engineer. I was in charge of productivity and planning resources to reach on-time delivery. Handling logistics processes taught me how to improve our customer satisfaction. In this phase of my career, I started Six Sigma training as a Green Belt. Six Sigma certification is a necessary step to drive several projects within or outside a process facility from a strategic point of view. Then I applied for a Welding Engineer position. It was a highly technical job. I received training in welding process development from designers and patent owners in the United States. After six years working on control and improvement projects and process design analysis, I aspired to hold a managerial position: Production Leader. This job meant coaching more than 250 people working on seven different products. My challenge was to align all efforts with corporate strategic priorities. During this phase, I completed Six Sigma Master Black Belt training and a leadership programme at Schneider Electric University, focusing on financial analysis and soft skills. I held this position for one year and then took the opportunity to transfer to a the United States in a Quality Manager position. Phase 6 : Quality Manager, Seneca, United States. I am now in charge of quality assurance at our motor control centres. We have customers in different countries. There is no standard product, every single order is different. My job is all about listening to each customer. Next, I am considering earning an MBA to further expand my career opportunities. One of the key lessons of my experience is that a small change in a process can bring great results to customer satisfaction. Do not underestimate any opportunity for improvement! 2) Adrine - Sales. My name is Adrine. I am 29 years old. Let me tell you about what I have done so far at Schneider Electric. I joined our company right after graduating with a technical degree in Electrical Equipment Installation. I started as a sales engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I held this position for three years. It provided me with extensive knowledge of our range of products and a good understanding of our customer needs. Then I accepted a new position with greater responsibility : Business Development Analyst at our Hong Kong office. Within the business development team, my job was to analyse all new business opportunities. My dual technical and sales background perfectly suited this function. Our team included a mixture of people from different cultures and backgrounds. This job showed me how exciting it is to work in a multicultural environment. Moreover, I have learned how to motivate my teammates and have developped my leadership abilities. This enriching experience encouraged me to apply for a management position in a totally different country. I am now Building Sales Manager, based in Seoul where I started a completely new business in Commercial buildings three years ago. I completed a leadership training course that both prepared me for this new job and expanded my network of contacts within the company. I built the sales and technical support team for this business. I now manage 11 people and grow this business everyday. Even though I have held this position for three years now, I find it as interesting as when I first started. I believe my international assignments and my training course at Schneider Electric University both had a strong positive impact on my growth. 3) Ross, Finance control. Hello! My name is Ross. I'm 27 years old. I joined Schneider Electric seven years ago, as a management accountant in Sydney, Australia. My job was to analyse costs and control expenses. This first job provided me with a good overall view of our organisational structure and business operations. Three years later, I jumped at the opportunity to move to Singapore as Financial controller. I was in charge of a finance team that supported distribution centre operations and oversaw financial reporting to management. I was keen to discover the world, so I quickly applied for a new position in Hong Kong: Performance Analysis Project Manager. Given our rapid development, new responsibilities came along: I was to be part of a project that aims to align our business development with financial objectives. To prepare myself for the challenge, my manager and I decided I should complete a training workshop in Finance. This assigment enabled me to work hand-in-hand with our business unit management on a daily basis. It helped me expand my internal network very early in my career. Six months ago, ready for more challenges, I accepted a new position back in Sydney, Australia: Controlling Business Process Owner. I am now in charge of IT implementation and business transformation for finance and reporting processes at all locations in Australia and New Zealand. I am accountable for the performance of these processes. Looking back, I'm amazed by everything I was able to achieve in such a short time. Before the age of 30, no less! Because of my experience working overseas, changing functions, gaining expertise, and networking. I now work in my home country of Australia in a much higher-ranking position. End.
